My Family

On the left, is a picture of my mom and I that was taken during the summer. Of all the people in my family, I am definitely closest to my mom. She knows a lot about me and really understands how I'm feeling most of the time. I know she cares very much about me and that I can talk to her about anything and she will listen. On the right, is a picture of my golden retriever, Taffy. My family has had her since I was eight years old and she has since become a permanent part of our family. She is the sweetest dog I have ever met and always cheers me up when I'm down.

A Place That is Special to Me

For a couple years now, my mom and I have been taking a trip to Block Island, Rhode Island every summer. The first time we went there, I fell in love with the island. It's a small, quaint island right off the coast of Rhode Island. You have to take an hour ferry ride to get to and from the mainland; therefore, it makes you feel like you're in a different country. There's cute little shops up and down the roads and beaches everywhere. This is definitely a place that I look forward to going to every summer just to get away from the stress of home.

Inspirational Photos for the Joy Series

After considering painting photos of nature that I took in the Poconos, I decided, instead, to paint pictures of jellyfish I had recently taken at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. My plan is to use watercolor as the medium for these paintings.
